A Little About This Program
An in-home family support program that serves families in Haywood County with children prenatal-kindergarten entry. Free program. Families in the PAT program will receive home visits monthly with activities that are designed for the age of your child. We focus on the four areas of development (language, intellectual, personal-social, and fine/gross motor) and each activity is targeted towards one or more of those areas. The activities are often made from household items, so they are great ideas of things that you can make with your child and be doing with your child to support and encourage their development. The program is very literacy based, books are a large part of the program. We offer parent group meetings (approx. 6 per year), weekly playgroups during the summer, referrals for other needed services, and developmental screenings annually or as needed to assess if your child is on target in those four areas of development. We also are a great source of information for parenting topics that you may be experiencing at certain times: potty training, nutrition, discipline etc. It is also a great way to connect with other families with children your child's age through the parent meetings and playgroups! Funded through Smart Start/Region A Partnership for Children. |
